Award program

Award program is a program that is designed to make the sport of wrestling safer.  The idea is derived from traditional martial arts where students have to learn sets of techniques before they can grade to higher level.

It is only when the students have progressed to a higher level that they are then allowed to compete.

Besides creating a safer atmosphere for our wrestler the program also has the following benefit:

  • Creates a non threatening and friendly environment for uncompetitive wrestlers
  • Measuring achievement
  • Standardizing teaching
  • Training junior coaches
  • Creating a revenue for the association

Currently WWA is testing this program in a pilot form at Claremont PCYC under supervision of Mr. Samios.
